The Election as Described by Twitter: False statements, vulgar threats, endless debates, and of course, memes. That was the state of Twitter on Election night and throughout the week while the country waited for results. Users shared laughs, fears, and their opinions all concerning the election. To many it was nerve wracking, but some still joked around and had a good time.
Social Media was so contentious last week that Twitter put a warning on President Donald Trump’s tweets, warning that they may contain false or misleading information about the election.

Sore Loser: President Trump had a lot to say about the election. So far he refuses to step down. The most notable claim he made was that the election was unfair and that he won, despite losing both the electoral college and popular vote. Trump has claimed that mail-in ballots should not be counted and that they aren’t “real” votes. Many Trump supporters believe the same thing, and even gathered at vote-counting locations across the country to protest with this rallying cry: “Stop the count!”
The Trump Campaign has so far refused to concede and since Election Night has filed several lawsuits in Pennsylvania, Nevada, Michigan, Georgia, and Arizona.
