Western Connecticut State University’s Professor of Biological and Environmental Sciences, Dr. Mitch Wagener, will present a series of free public lectures on climate change. The lectures will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on five consecutive Wednesday evenings in Science building room 125, on WCSU’s Midtown campus.

The lecture schedule is as follows:

  •  “Weather and Climate” – Feb. 3
  • “Factors That Modify the Climate” – Feb. 10
  • “Climate and Civilization” Feb. 17
  • “The Recent Past and the Near Future” – Feb. 24
  • “How Do We Fix This?” – March 2

Wagener, an expert in invertebrates and ecosystems, has been delivering lectures and public talks focused on science for the past 15 years. Not only will Wagener present the material, but 6 of his university students will participate in the lectures as well, presenting their own material on topics of their choice. The lecture series is sponsored by the Jane Goodall Center at WCSU. For more information, contact Dr. Wagener at wagenarm@wcsu.edu, or visit the “WCSU Climate Ecology” Facebook page.
